Students supply their own cabochon cut stones, crystals, rocks, etc.
Learn how to measure, fabricate and form ring bands, bezel/prong set cabochon stones, saw, and solder. Texture your metal designs using hammers, stamping tools, roller print (using lace, paper cut-outs, leaf skeletons, hole punched paper, etc), annealing and work hardening your metal. Students leave with beautiful, handmade creations and the knowledge/skills to build more work!

WHAT SHOULD YOU BRING?
No special equipment or supplies are required of participants.
Although the process is less messy than you might think, it’s advisable to wear closed-toed shoes and clothing you won’t mind getting a bit dirty.
We will provide some supplies for posing (fabrics and basic hand-sewing supplies), you may want to bring props and accessories for your finished product. (Note that an adult rat is about the size of a Barbie doll, but with a more realistic waistline. Keep this in mind when choosing furniture or props for your piece.) Reserve your seat today!

Form • Fabricate • Cast • Fuse – Learn basic Goldsmithing + Lost wax casting – 6:30-9:30pm, 4 weeks, 2 evenings per week. – $285 per person, 6 people max, 3 people min. Half down required to hold space $142.50
evening #1: First evening: working with copper-safety, drilling, sawing.
evening #2: Making a band ring out of silver (stamp, hammer finish, roller print, etc.)
evening #3: Working with wax create pieces w/the lost wax technique- to be cast in Sterling silver.
evening #4: Finishing wax projects, Cuttlefish casting (lo-tech) in house.
evening #5: Kilnworked glass. Fuse several glass pieces (buckle, pendant, cabochon for setting later!).
evening #6: Enameling copper projects, forming, how to make your own basic findings.
evening #7: Bezel settings cabochon stones or fossils or crystals, or an enamelled or Fused glass piece.
evening #8: Finish up projects

Glass Fusing components for jewelry, and wearable art plus, making a ring band and bezel-setting glass!
Saturday: Learn how to cut various glass shapes, paint glass, work with powdered glass and stringers
How to properly build your glass pieces for fusing.
Annealing cycles are discussed and journaled as well as Slumping, Tack fusing temperatures and other kiln forming techniques.
Sunday: Items are taken out of the kiln/annealer and cleaned, cold working is demonstrated with the diamond saw, and simple hand-cold working methods.
Participants then bezel set one of their fused pieces as well as learn how to form, and solder a sterling silver ring band!
Sterling silver pendant backs and special glass adhesive are included. No experience necessary!
Ars Vitraria Experimentalis : Glass casting course 4 Sessions: Saturday afternoons noon – 5:30/6pm, Fall course start of November 7th– 5 Student max., 3 student min. $430 includes all materials. This course is perfect for people looking to turn non-glass items into glass. Using the lost wax casting process and Pate de Verre, this course covers various mould making techniques. Adding metal and clay inclusions. Packing moulds with glass, casting and annealing cycles, working with alginate and silicone moulds to replicate pieces. Participants will learn how to hand finish pieces; to grind, sand, and cut glass. Participants in this class will create beautiful and original sculptures, while learning the infinite possibilities of casting and Pate de Verre. Participants create recycled glass tiles, pate de verre objects, lost wax cast sculptures and more. All materials included. No experience necessary!
